I’m thrilled to say I had the most delightful session with Lesley. She prepared us for the session really well when we chatted beforehand: actively listening to what I wanted (the purpose, my ideas for feel, poses, colour scheme & costumes etc), suggesting ideas and being really positive.
Even though we hadn’t met, I felt at ease, and that we were collaborating. She went out of her way to liaise with the venue and make things as easy as possible for me generally, which I really appreciated. Again, I really felt we were working together, which is really important for me.
When it came to the shoot itself, Lesley brought her lovely calm, friendly, focused energy to the session. She has a wonderful way of bringing herself totally to her work without imposing – what this meant in practice is that we communicated really well: there was a wonderful flow of visual structures, ideas, and moods that we created between us.
Lesley created a safe space for me to listen to my body and try new things in the moment, which was a vital part of the shoot. It’s unusual for me to feel so free in front of a camera, and this freedom really shines out in the photos.
Lesley balances kindness and friendliness with a high degree of professionalism and authenticity, which really brought out the best in me. I felt supported, inspired, and seen as a creative human: for this to be captured by the camera is beyond what I’d hoped for – brilliant!

Lesley immediately put us at ease, in no time we were dancing around the studio in our underwear, feeling confident to show both sexiness and vulnerability.

‘I hired Lesley to do a promotional photoshoot for my queer brand.
The shoot involved nudity and sensitive subject matter which she handled like a complete pro. She made everyone feel really comfortable in their pants and had such great and unique ideas I would have never thought of.
I am obsessed with all the photos from the shoot – the only problem was deciding which ones I wanted to share and when as they were all so good.
Can’t recommend working with Lesley enough, it can be really hard to find queer and sex positive photographers so know that Lesley’s studio is a safe space for all’
